The fine folks at Ford’s in-house high-performance division – the Special Vehicle Team – have created a MONSTER. With rugged aftermarket hardware, the new 2010 Raptor F-150 is a beast when the pavement ends. It can tackle off-road trails that would destroy lesser pickups, but how does it drive on the street? McElroy gives his thoughts on this testosterone-charged truck after testing one for a week.

This week John shares his thoughts on the 2009 Hyundai Genesis Coupe powered by the 2.0-liter turbo four engine.  He really likes the car’s styling and interior, but he finds a couple areas where this sporty two-door could use some improvement.

Let’s take a look at the Krom edition of Nissan’s quirky answer to Scion–the Cube. The styling is odd, but goes just far enough to work, however it does present some annoying drawbacks. On the road the powertrain leaves a bit to be desired, but the rewarding fuel economy may just be worth it.

Suzuki is one of Japan’s smaller automakers. To try and grow its sales, later this year it’s launching a new midsize sedan called the Kizashi. It’s aimed right at competitors like the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. The car is not available at dealerships yet, but here’s a quick overview of what it will bring to the market.

LEXUS LUXURY

MY THOUGHTS ABOUT FORD’S LATEST HYBRID

The Fusion Hybrid is Ford’s latest green vehicle.  The company has been touting the it’s efficiency, boasting that it tops the Toyota Camry hybrid by eight miles per gallon in the city. Here are some of my thoughts about the car after driving one from the press fleet.

2009 Mazda 6

Back in 2002 Mazda launched an all-new family sedan. Called the 6, it was designed to battle the segment-topping Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. Nevertheless, it came up short in a few key areas, and it never sold as well as its targets. Blame it on a lack of horsepower as well as the fact that it was slightly smaller than its competition. For 2009, Hiroshima’s hometown automaker has completely redesigned the 6, and the results are truly eye opening.

2009 Honda Fit

Honda established its reputation by building high-quality, fuel-efficient small cars. And that tradition continues today with its completely redesigned Fit. The popular subcompact is all-new from the ground up and offers drivers a lot in terms of features and dynamics. Now, as truck and SUV sales cool down to arctic levels, consumers have been tuning up the heat. The small car market is smoking hot right now and Honda’s right in the heart of the segment. But has the company kept the good, baked-in “Fitness” of the original or have they watered the new car down?
